Description
As part of a renovation and expansion process in the country, Nestlé Costa Rica required a new site for its main office in Costa Rica.

Challenges
- MERIDIA assumed Project Management for all pre-construction and construction activities, with a 7-month deadline to complete construction while maintaining control over costs, schedules, scope, and quality requirements.
- Corporate requirements were met, as well as a design to renovate and update the office image.
- Time constraints: Nestlé’s lease for the offices ended in August 2020.
- The Covid-19 pandemic was confirmed in March 2020 and became a constant risk to meeting project objectives.
- The offices needed to be fully operational by September 2020 and maintain uninterrupted operation.

- Establish a robust project management team capable of overseeing all contractors and suppliers involved.
- Consistent reporting and risk management enabled the project to be completed on time and under budget.
- The project was completed within the established delivery dates and budget, even during the Covid-19 pandemic. The project is currently operational and meets the client’s expectations. The 1,500 m² office space was fully delivered in September 2020.

Lutron was looking to build a new production plant to satisfy the growing demand for its products in the Americas region and decided to invest in Costa Rica. The new plant is being developed in phases and will house many of the newest technologies being produced for a demanding construction sector.

Challenges
- As a developer of logistic projects in the US, Mexico and Brasil, LatAm Logistic Properties faced an aggressive expansion strategy. With the decision made to have their new headquarters established in Costa Rica, LatAm looked to MERIDIA to lead their first project.
- The success of this project meant the possibility of continuing their expansion strategy in other countries.
